Micheal Granata, Executive Chef, Table 301 Catering/Soby's on the Side


A third generation chef, born and raised in New York, Granata has a long culinary history, from restaurant owner to executive chef to food and recipe consultant. He graduated from New York Technical College with a degree in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management. While working on his degree, Granata participated in a foreign study exchange program at Bournemouth & Poole College of Higher Education in Bournemouth, England.

Granata spent more than 20 years owning his restaurants in multiple sites across Manhattan, ranging from catering operations to full service restaurants. While in New York, he served a variety of customers, including the members of the New York Stock Exchange.

He moved to Greenville, SC in 1999 and joined Soby's in 2001. He serves as the Executive Chef for all of catering activities for Table 301, creating menus and experiences for groups of all sizes as well as for Soby’s on the Side, the group’s deli-bakery open for breakfast and lunch.

Granata has won numerous awards, including the New York Guild of Chefs "Chef of the Year" and two Silver Metals as Team Captain of the New York Guild of Chefs. He still serves as the Chairman of the Board of the New York Guild of Chefs, which is an elected position. Granata also holds two records in the Guinness Book of Records.
